Never aimed at you. Aimed where you just were.
A narrow yellow kite trailing sparks, nose pointed exactly where it is going, so a screenful of them all facing different ways means none of them are coming for you.
It picks one straight line the moment it spawns, aimed near wherever you were standing, and it flies that line until it leaves the arena. It never turns, never corrects, never chases. It is a little slower than you while you are not shooting, 0.93x, but faster than you while you shoot, so if you fire as you travel along its line it runs you down from behind. Touching it takes 9 off you, the hardest contact hit of any basic enemy.
You back away in a straight line, shooting as you go, which is the exact path it is already flying, and it overtakes you from behind. Or you get busy dodging one and walk into the second and third line crossing the same space.
Break sideways the second you see a line pointed at you. One step out of it and it flies past forever.
Turn perpendicular instead of backing straight away. Along its line while you shoot is the one way it catches you, so if you have to run that line, lift your thumb.
Put a wreck between you and an incoming one, and ignore the ones that already passed. Auto-aim will chew a dart that is flying away, so point the right thumb at what is still coming.

Speeds are multiples of yours while you are not shooting. Holding fire slows you to about two thirds of that. Health grows 16% a minute, compounding, with no cap.
